Sound Leisure have been manufacturing jukeboxes for over 30 years.

Sound Leisure have been hand-building the finest reproduction jukeboxes available since 1978. Originally formed by Alan Black and Edward Moss, the company is still family owned and run. Their range of Classic Jukeboxes maintain the styling elements often associated with the golden age of jukeboxes including bubble tubes, dome tops, chrome castings and subtle coloured lighting.

Sound Leisure remain one of only a few traditional jukebox manufacturers in the world, however where  competitors have moved towards mass production, plastic adornments and money saving manufacturing processes, they insist on sticking to the very best techniques and components for their hand-built Classic Jukebox range. They utilise the latest technology and Sound Leisure’s revolutionary ‘21st Century’ 80 disc CD changing mechanism, the simplest jukebox mechanism in the world! Every element of a Sound Leisure jukebox is created from the finest traditional materials and because  each jukebox is manufactured individually it can be tailored to meet your exact requirements. The ‘Custom Shop’ can add bespoke cabinet veneers and colours, or create logo’s and artwork to your specification.

The CD jukeboxes range from the classic 'Gazelle' and 'Manhattan' models and now include the recently launched '1015'.........

The Gazelle (from £3745 ex VAT)

This is a replica of the 1942 classic ‘The Gazelle’ which was conceived and designed by the creative genius of the legendary American, Paul Fuller. Collectors world wide regard the original model as the finest jukebox ever made.

Because of the war effort (1942) only 3,400 machines were ever built making an original very rare and very valuable (£30,000+)

Striking colours and an undeniable Art Deco influence make this truly distinctive in its appearance. The vivid reds and greens of the dome graphics depict stylised gazelles leaping across the dome with a second pair etched into the mirrored glass door panels.

There are 4 bubble tubes - two on each leg which subtly change colour as they slowly rotate inside the jukebox. Very relaxing and truly mesmerising!

A real visual statement with the
sounds to match!

The Manhattan (from £3745 ex VAT)

Manhattan Island in New York City has always been about mixing style with fun. In the city that never sleeps, cocktails flow and the place jumps to the rhythm of life! Similarly, the Manhattan jukebox combines chic lines and a powerful sound that is guaranteed to be the talking point of any party!

The Manhattan is also “New York tough”. Like all Sound Leisure's dome topped jukeboxes, it‘s bubble tube casings are made from the same material as police riot shields! However, it still remains enchanting enough to ensure chic has never sounded so good!

The Manhattan is also available in ice-white and together with the 'diamond pack' lighting system makes this jukebox truly 'custom-made'.

The 1015 (from £4167 ex VAT)

Based on the 1946 Wurlitzer 1015, which remains to this day, the biggest selling jukebox of all time. The 1015 set a benchmark, which has only now been met by the talented craftsmen and women at the Sound Leisure workshops in Leeds.

Of the original 65,000 1015s sold, only around 6,000 remain in the market and would now cost over £10,000 to buy. These jukeboxes held twenty-four 78 RPM records that were only playable on one side. Times have of course changed, and Sound Leisure has updated its Nostalgia model to hold 80 CDs, as well as having iPod connectivity.

But what sets the Sound Leisure Nostalgia jukebox apart from others in the market is the attention to detail. It has a hand-formed cabinet featuring beautiful bubble tubes, an aluminium-cast speaker grill, antlers, and chromed base. Just one Nostalgia jukebox takes around 45 man hours to produce, and incorporates the skills of departments including the wood shop, machine shop, polishing, assembly, wiring and final test.

“The new Nostalgia truly is a dream machine. It harks back to the glory years of the 1015, which some believe was the greatest jukebox of its time. We have brought the design into the 21st Century, without sacrificing any of the quality that made the 1015 justifiably famous,” says Alan Black, Sound Leisure Chairman.

“We realise that our latest Nostalgia is set to become a collector’s item, in the same way as many of our other Classic jukeboxes. We are initially aiming the box at the consumer/home market, but as the machine is available with a coin-mech – commercial use is also possible,” says Chris Black, Sound Leisure Managing Director.
